Is Foreign Culture Foreign_Session 2_ Do's and Don'ts for College Life
Date :
4/25/25
Introduction
College life is full of new challenges and learning opportunities—but in different cultures, there are always some surprising taboos and quirky customs you may have never heard of! In this event, we invite you to share the unique "do’s and don’ts" from your culture. You might have heard about Taiwan’s green "Kuai Kuai" snacks that are believed to keep lab equipment running smoothly, the unspoken rules for interacting with professors, or the Tudi Gong (Earth God) near NYCU who’s known to enjoy grass jelly drinks. In Vietnam, some students avoid bananas and peanuts before exams for good luck. Maybe you’ve even chatted with friends about dating taboos or everyday etiquette in different countries. These seemingly ordinary things often carry fun and meaningful cultural stories! No matter where you're from, this is a great opportunity to share your stories and learn more about each other's cultures. Join us as we explore the fascinating do’s and don’ts of college life around the world—and uncover the little secrets that make student life even more interesting!
